List it
Add a standing restriction for your own stock, a board seat, or a client mandate. Deal securities are added on approval and removed at close.
Match on submission
Each trade request is matched automatically against active restrictions, and only your reviewer sees the flag and its source.
End it
Uncheck Active to end a standing restriction, or close the deal to end its restrictions. Each restriction's dates and source stay in history.
Worked example
Follow a restriction from the day it starts to the day it ends.
A client's stock is restricted when the matter opens, flagged on every request to trade it, and the restriction ends at close.
Restriction
An M&A partner brings two associates and an analyst over the wall for a client acquisition. On approval, the client's stock is restricted for all three.
Flag
Next, the analyst asks to buy that stock. You see "Restricted security match" with the matter's name, and reject with an emailed reason. She never sees the flag.
End
On announcement, the partner closes the matter to end the restriction. Its date and source stay in history.
Reconciliation
At quarter end, she imports nine trades from two broker statements. Eight match a clearance, and the ninth, in a restricted security, reaches you with her explanation.
